Stock Compatibility & Acclimatisation
We endeavour to offer up to date information on our website, however under no circumstance can we be held responsible for any purchases made being incompatible with your tank, fish, setup or water parameters. Livestock purchased from this website should be thoroughly researched prior to purchase and the buyer assumes full responsibility for the purchase made being compatible with their own tanks setup.
It is strongly suggested you follow our recommended acclimatisation process on receipt of your livestock:
1) Float the sealed bag in the tank you are going to be placing the fish for 30-40 minutes.
2) Cut open the bag
3) Gently pour the contents of the bag with the fish into a net (To catch the fish) over a waste water bucket (To catch the waste transport water).
4) Place the fish gently into your tank water.

Transportation of Livestock
Transporting fish via a postal courier is not the optimal way to transport live animals, we understand and are pragmatic in that this practice is however sometimes required to allow buyers to purchase species/livestock that may not be readily available locally to them, however;
By purchasing live fish online from our store the buyer hereby agrees to understand that shipping live fish via a courier can cause the animal stress, loss of colouration, lethargy and in extreme circumstances death of the animal.
At TNT aquatics we try to reduce this risk to as low as reasonably practicable, however some things no matter how many safeguards we put in place are out with our control.
The buyer therefore understands and accepts this risk and our DOA policy below prior to purchase.
All DOA claims must be made as per our DOA T&C below.
DOA Terms
- DOA applies to within one hour from delivery of your livestock.
- DOA also applies to before any acclimatization to your own tank(s) begins.
- Photographic or video proof of the deceased fish must be supplied to us, displaying them in the unopened bag they were shipped in by us.
- It is the buyers full responsibility to be at the delivery address and available at the time of delivery to receive the fish on the agreed delivery date.
- Our DOA refund policy only ever applies to the first delivery attempt made by the courier.
- If your DOA claim is accepted we will Issue you a full refund of the cost of the fish minus P&P.
Disease & Pests
Where possible we aim to breed our own livestock, this enables us to supply you with healthier more vibrant and robust fish.
Its important to note that even with our higher standards, our fish are still kept in community tanks and grow out spaces. These tanks are monitored closely daily and we make best endeavours to not supply any livestock showing any signs of disease.
The stress of transportation can however induce illnesses and disease that would not have been displayed to us prior to packaging the animal.
We would highly recommend therefore that fish (even healthy looking) are placed into quarantine tanks on arrival at your address, this process combats the spread of disease and pathogens and allows you to monitor your new fish closely.
Where possible we try our very best to not have any "pest" stow way's such as for example unwanted snails or duckweed - however some of our tanks do contain snails and duckweed as we believe it promotes a healthier aquatic environment for our fish breeding projects - therefore please be mindful of this when releasing livestock from the bag.
We cannot be held responsible for any additional "pest" items contained within the livestock bag.
If concerned about this please always quarantine in a separate tank.
Shipping Rates
For dry goods our standard shipping rate is £4.99
For Livestock orders our shipping rate is £20
If your livestock order is over £150 then shipping is free
Returns
For livestock we do not accept returns. Returning fish that have just been shipped to you, is simply unethical on the animal(s) therefore once you have ordered and paid for live animals, and get confirmation of shipping there is no return. If you wish to cancel an order that has not yet been shipped please contact us ASAP where we will try our best to stop the dispatch if the packaging process has not yet begun. This however may not be possible depending on the stage of your shipping - Our decision is final.
All orders of live animals are subject to a no return policy. In the highly unlikely event your livestock has arrived DOA then please refer to the DOA section above for further info.
For dry goods or anything not living - We accept returns as per the customer consumer act 2015. You have the right to claim a refund, replacement, repair and/or compensation where the goods are faulty or mis described by us. In addition to your minimum legal rights, we also allow you to return goods if you simply change your mind. Please return the unused goods to us with the original receipt and order number within 14 days and we will offer you an exchange or a credit note.
