African Dwarf Frog - (Available in Normal and Albino)

Common Name: African Dwarf Frog

Species name: Hymenochirus boettgeri (or Hymenochirus spp.)

Species Group: Amphibian

Origin: Equatorial Africa – Congo River Basin (Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon)

Maximum Size: Approx 3.5–5cm (A true nano species that remains small)

Diet: African Dwarf Frogs are carnivorous scavengers that thrive on a protein-rich diet.[6] Offer specialized sinking frog pellets and supplement with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and tubifex. Because they have poor eyesight and find food primarily by scent, ensure they are not outcompeted by faster fish.[6] Target feeding with tweezers or a feeding dish is often recommended to ensure they receive adequate nutrition.

Ideal Water temp: 22 – 28 degrees c

PH: 6.5 – 7.8 (They prefer stable, clean water and are sensitive to copper-based medications)

Temperament:

African Dwarf Frogs are peaceful, social, and quirky additions to the aquarium. Unlike the larger and more aggressive African Clawed Frog, Dwarf Frogs are entirely aquatic and safe to keep with small, calm community fish like guppies, tetras, and corydoras. They are best kept in small groups, as they are social and often interact with one another.
