Alien Betta / Fighting fish Male - Copper Species Profile:
Common Name: Alien Betta / Fighting fish Male - Copper
Species name: Betta sp. (Hybrid)
Species Group: Gourami family (Osphronemidae)
Origin: This specific variety is a designer hybrid created through selective cross-breeding of wild species and domestic strains, primarily originating from specialist breeders in Thailand.
Maximum Size: Approx 6-7cm
Diet: As carnivores, Alien Bettas thrive on a high-protein diet. High-quality betta pellets or crumbles should be the staple. Because they are more active than long-finned varieties, they benefit greatly from variety; supplement with live or frozen foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms.
Ideal Water temp: 24 - 29 degrees c
PH: 6.0 - 7.2 (Aliens often prefer slightly softer, more acidic water than standard domestic bettas due to their wild heritage)
Temperament:
Male Alien Bettas are highly intelligent, active, and territorial. Because they have shorter fins (Plakat style) than Super Deltas, they are much faster and more energetic swimmers. They are aggressive towards other male bettas and should be kept solo in smaller tanks. In larger, heavily planted community tanks (45L+), they can sometimes be housed with fast-moving, peaceful tank mates, but caution is advised as their "wild" instincts can make them more predatory toward small shrimp.
TNT Notes:
Size is approx 5-7cm.
