They also appreciate occasional vegetable matter such as blanched peas or spinach.

Temprement:

Blood Red Parrots are famously quirky and full of personality. They are generally peaceful and social, often recognized for "interacting" with their owners through the glass. While they are cichlids and can be territorial about "their" cave, they are physically unable to do much damage due to their small mouths, making them suitable for community tanks with other medium-sized, peaceful fish.

TNT Notes:

If you want a fish that acts more like a "water puppy" than a pet, the Blood Red Parrot is the one. They are hardy, long-lived, and incredibly expressive. These specimens have been carefully selected for their deep red coloration and robust health.
