Species Group: Loach

Origin: These fish are native to the fast-flowing, clear, and highly oxygenated streams and rivers of Southeast and East Asia.

Maximum Size: Approx 4 to 7.5 cm

Diet: Hillstream Loaches are omnivores that primarily graze on biofilm and algae that grow on rocks and other surfaces.[4][10] Their diet in an aquarium should be supplemented with high-quality foods rich in plant matter, such as algae wafers, blanched vegetables, and spirulina-based foods, with occasional offerings of frozen foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp.

PH: 6.5 and 8.0

 

Temprement:

Hillstream Loaches are generally peaceful fish, making them suitable for community aquariums with other small, non-aggressive species.[6][14] While peaceful towards other types of fish, males can be territorial and may engage in non-harmful squabbles with each other, so it is best to keep them in groups of three or more to spread out any aggression and observe their interesting social behaviors.
