Diet: Omnivore. A high-quality diet consists of sinking algae wafers and pellets, supplemented with fresh vegetables like blanched zucchini, cucumber, or spinach. They also benefit from occasional meaty foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp. They will graze on algae and biofilm in the tank.

Calico Shortfin Bristlenose Plecos are generally peaceful and make excellent additions to most community aquariums. Males can become territorial towards each other, especially in smaller tanks, so providing ample hiding places such as caves, driftwood, and rocks is crucial. They are bottom dwellers and scavengers.
