Common Name: Super Red Devil Angelfish

Species name: Pterophyllum scalare

Species Group: Cichlid

Origin: South America – Amazon River Basin.

Maximum Size: Approx 15cm body size (up to 20–25cm including fins)

Diet: Angelfish are omnivores and do best on a varied diet. They readily accept high-quality flakes and cichlid pellets. Supplement with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, and mosquito larvae. Occasional vegetable-based foods like spirulina flakes can also be offered.

 

Ideal Water temp: 24 – 28 degrees c

PH: 6.0 -> 7.5

 

Temperament:

Super Red Devil Angelfish are generally peaceful but can become semi-aggressive, particularly during breeding or when establishing hierarchy. They may eat very small fish that fit in their mouths and can be territorial in smaller tanks. Best kept with other peaceful, medium-sized community fish. Provide tall tanks, plants, and décor for cover, as well as open swimming space. They are graceful, eye-catching fish with elegant finnage and do best in well-maintained, stable aquariums.
