Kribensis Species Profile:

 

Common Name: Nigerian Red Kribensis

Species name: Pelvicachromis pulcher

Species Group: Cichlid

Origin: Nigeria, West Africa.

Maximum Size: Approx 10cm

Diet: Kribensis are omnivores and will readily accept a varied diet of high-quality flake food, pellets, and frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia. Some vegetable matter can also be offered.

Ideal Water temp: 24 - 28 degrees c

PH: 6.0  ->  7.5 (Our Kribs breed in 7.4ph water)

 

Temprement:

Kribensis are generally considered semi-aggressive, especially during breeding. They can be territorial towards other bottom-dwelling fish and conspecifics. However, they are often less aggressive than many other cichlid species. Providing adequate space and hiding places is important.

 

TNT Notes:

A nice medium sized cichlid - Be careful with agression though so ample hiding places and hiding spots are a must. If you want to breed these you will need a cave. Fish supplied are approx 5cm
