Red Robin Gourami Species Profile:
Common Name: Red Robin Gourami
Species name: Trichogaster chuna (Red Variant)
Species Group: Gourami (Labyrinth Fish)
Origin: A striking color morph derived from the Honey Gourami, originally native to the slow-moving waters of India and Bangladesh.
Maximum Size: Approx 4-5 cm
Diet: These are omnivores with a preference for smaller foods. They thrive on high-quality micro-pellets or crushed flakes. To really make their deep red color pop, we recommend supplementing with live or frozen daphnia and cyclops. They also love our TNT Brine Shrimp Blast!
Ideal Water temp: 22 - 28 degrees c
PH: 6.0 -> 7.5
Temperament:
Red Robin Gouramis are exceptionally peaceful and somewhat timid. They are "labyrinth" fish, meaning they breathe air from the surface, so they prefer calm, slow-moving water. They are perfect for nano-tanks or community setups with other gentle species. Because they are shy, they feel most secure in tanks with plenty of floating plants and hiding spots.
TNT Notes:
Fish supplied are approx 2-4cm.
