Diet: The Swordtail (Xiphophorus hellerii) is an omnivorous species with a natural diet consisting of small insects, algae, plant matter, and tiny crustaceans. In the aquarium, they thrive on a varied diet of high-quality flake or pellet food supplemented with live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms, 1 and they also appreciate blanched vegetables and algae wafers.

Swordtails (Xiphophorus hellerii) are generally peaceful and active fish, making them suitable for community aquariums.
